Serial numbers are useless as far as dating these instruments because Fender did not keep track of banjo serials, especially after the sale of CBS Fender to FMIC in the 1980's. These banjos were produced from the late 1970's to the early 1980's. This does not effect the playability of the instrument.

This banjo has normal wear and tear for a banjo of this age, but no cracks or structural damage. There are also two small holes on the side of the fretboard on the binding where a previous owner had a 5th string capo installed, which has cause small cracks in the binding around that area as well, which should hopefully be shown adequately in the pictures. Banjo appears to be all original apart from the bridge and head, and spikes added at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets. This is an all maple banjo with a beautiful flamed maple resonator, and rosewood fretboard, real mother of pearl fretboard and headstock inlays, and metal tone ring.
